 December 11, 2024 - Hurdle Defeats us

Starting off a game never knowing it will defeat us is truly the most humbling experience in AEP. And in this case, it was Hurdle. Everyone thinks it’s over, but it always comes back to us. It’s truly a battle, a battle between choosing which letters were correct and the placement of it. It was quite humbling to see at the end how blind we were during the game.

We did a worksheet that included a graph and filled in the blanks. Other than that, we all recited one detail about a different graph and also read example answers. It wasn’t too difficult or anything like that since I adapted to doing these types of activities.

January 8, 2025 - Defeated once again

Once again, Hurdle returns to us. But it was quite different, it was somewhat similar to wordle, but you do it multiple times in a row until you lose. To our surprise, we lost after three games. It was quite devastating but oh well.

In our worksheets, it included how to describe pie charts. We went over the worksheets for a bit and then wrote a few sentences as practice. It was quite a coincidence since we were also learning pie charts in our math class

January 15, 2024 -   Duotrigordle?

We tried a new warm up called Duotrigordle, it was doing 37 wordles at once. It was actually quite interesting as we had to think of multiple words at the same time. Also, after completing the first words only gives us hints for the following words to be guessed. The surprising thing is we guessed with a perfect amount of guesses, we also did better than the others graders. It was actually a fun warmup that took around 20 minutes.

Next, we wrote a few sentences that included the main points about a pie chart which was pretty easy. Then, Miss went around and asked for our scores that we think we deserve, I said 10/10. Although my sentences  weren't the best, it definitely wasn’t wrong, it could be better. As our last task of the day, we wrote 5-6 sentences about a pie chart regarding the energy usage in the USA in 1980 and 1990. The topic wasn’t necessarily relevant, the main focus was our grammar and sentence structure.  Since Miss teaches us how to properly structure sentences regarding pie charts, I found it quite easy and simple to do.

January 22, 2025 - Pie charts again?

We started off with a classic but easy game of ours, Wordle. Since we’re already experts at this, it took only three tries to guess the word, which was “Reach”. Summer had guessed the word.

Then Miss handed out our notebooks, and one by one checked our mistakes from our previous sentence about a pie chart. Some of us struggled with sentence structure, so we discussed that for a bit. After that, to see if we learned anything from our previous sentences, we rewrote the same sentences but way better.

As our last task for the lesson, we received a new pie chart to write four sentences about. It was about the ways Australia and Canada get access to their news such as looking up online or watching television. I quite enjoyed this lesson as I got to learn from my previous mistakes which I found really helpful. Last but not least, we ended off with a game of Sectordle.

Blog 3.3 Almira

I haven’t written a blog for quite a long time, and I also haven’t attended aep class for 3 weeks because I went to vacation in Boracay and there was the Musicals and the most recent one was the Holy week, to be honest I dont really remember what we did for aep for the past few weeks I was in class and as long as I can remember we did scrabble and did our seatwork. I dont know what to write about since I dont have anything to talk about the class since I was absent for quite a long time, anyways for the past few weeks I was  absent from aep class I did some cool activities and visited two different islands.  Roughly two weeks ago, I went to Boracay for vacation since it was Eid so we decided to go there for a week I had so much fun there and I really enjoyed it because I went snorkelling and did some other water sports activities. Now the second time I was absent for aep was because of the musicals, it was techinacally a holiday but I think I kinda enjoyed it unfortunate...

the cost of giving up — Leowyn Blog 3.3

Today was the assignment of the final, retrospective blog we would do to encapsulate everything we've seen and learnt in AEP for Grade 11. It's a miracle I'm still smiling across the hallways, filled with days where I'm really just like "what is happening?" This year has really went by so fast and so soon, so here I am, in the final stretch of the year, seeking solace in the summer break (which I won't be getting due to college applications and my AS Levels.) Here's the rundown of what we've done in each term, paired with the titles of my blogs on those terms: Term One: eternal sunshine, ***Flawless, The Joker, Repeat Term 1 was one of the most grueling terms for me in AEP, mainly because of the unit topics. Learning business terms and political terms even though I explicitly said, to everyone in my life, I would never touch a business topic ever again ... but there I was, running around with 'gerrymandering' in my head 24/7. It was good p...

3.2

Helloooo!!! How is everyone?? Yup, I am late again, like always — and this time, I really am not sure what to write, as I am constantly getting demolished every day with Cambridge. If you were wondering where I was all this time… well, I was just doing past papers!! OKAY — so this blog was due weeks ago, and the reason I missed it (it’s not procrastination this time!!) is that I was absent during the last two weeks of classes that semester. For one of them, we had our stats mock for Cambridge, which I wonderfully failed, and for the next absence… I don't even remember what happened to me. Maybe I was just dead doing all the past papers. Sorry, Miss Disa — I began procrastinating midway!! Well, I’m going to finish this now. This semester, we started doing lessons on environmental words. It was a pretty easy chapter and fun lessons! Too bad I missed most of them. Anyway, on the first day, Miss Disa gave us some random cut-out words that go together. Me, Meral, and Sashmeen were in ...
