Aleena Imran - BLOG #3.2 - Grade 9

 I honestly cannot believe we are already halfway through the third term, it feels like we started it yesterday. This will be one of the last blogs we’ll be writing for the school year, which seems so crazy. As much as I’m not fond of writing blogs, it’s still a reminder that we shared our moments together in AEP.


 March 5, 2025 -  An Off-Board Warmup?


This warmup was unlike our other ones. We usually have our warmups on the board, such as Wordle, Hurdle or waffle. But this time, all we had on the board was a map. Everyone had to state one sentence about the two maps shown on the screen, but there was a plot twist, you had to remember what the previous person stated and add on to it. As more people stated their sentences, it only got difficult, it meant you had to remember more sentences, but in the correct order. I wasn’t able to remember the sentences in order, but I still enjoyed watching other students struggling to remember the sentences. 


Later on, we got a worksheet that had maps on it. We also discussed the difference between passive and present tense sentences, which was quite helpful as it hasn’t been discussed in class before. Subsequently, we also practiced making passive and present tense sentences.


March 12, 2025 -  A whole essay?


This time, we had an onboard warm-up, but Hurdle was against us. In this game, I was given the opportunity to hold the pen. We were able to manage the game at the start, but as we progressed, it only got more difficult. It required a lot more thinking, but since I was holding the pen, I didn't think at all. We managed to finish the game on time. 

Following that, we discussed what made up an essay. It included paraphrasing the prompt and writing the overview. Miss had also suggested ways to write our essay, which I find thoughtful. She had given us about the rest of the lesson to finish our essay. The essay was about comparing two maps from 1985 and present time.

There was another worksheet we had left, so we completed the two remaining questions. The first was unscrambling the word stated while the second one was putting the correct tense for a verb. Since we had a few minutes left, we decided to play contexto, but ended up unsuccessful.

 I haven’t written a blog for quite a long time, and I also haven’t attended aep class for 3 weeks because I went to vacation in Boracay and there was the Musicals and the most recent one was the Holy week, to be honest I dont really remember what we did for aep for the past few weeks I was in class and as long as I can remember we did scrabble and did our seatwork. I dont know what to write about since I dont have anything to talk about the class since I was absent for quite a long time, anyways for the past few weeks I was  absent from aep class I did some cool activities and visited two different islands.  Roughly two weeks ago, I went to Boracay for vacation since it was Eid so we decided to go there for a week I had so much fun there and I really enjoyed it because I went snorkelling and did some other water sports activities. Now the second time I was absent for aep was because of the musicals, it was techinacally a holiday but I think I kinda enjoyed it unfortunate...

Helloooo!!! How is everyone?? Yup, I am late again, like always — and this time, I really am not sure what to write, as I am constantly getting demolished every day with Cambridge. If you were wondering where I was all this time… well, I was just doing past papers!! OKAY — so this blog was due weeks ago, and the reason I missed it (it’s not procrastination this time!!) is that I was absent during the last two weeks of classes that semester. For one of them, we had our stats mock for Cambridge, which I wonderfully failed, and for the next absence… I don't even remember what happened to me. Maybe I was just dead doing all the past papers. Sorry, Miss Disa — I began procrastinating midway!! Well, I’m going to finish this now. This semester, we started doing lessons on environmental words. It was a pretty easy chapter and fun lessons! End and the start of term!

Helloooo everyone! Welcome with another blast! See, your favorite blogger is not late this time!!! And that is because it's just the start of another term, and the workload from school is quite light. Can you believe it's the last term already?? I am still in disbelief—only 2/3 of grade 11 is left, and then our final year of high school... I don't even want to think about it! We have learned a lot of things in AEP last term, including discovering new games and learning a lot more of Miss Disa's fun anecdotes. AEP this year has taught me a lot of technical terms as we have been getting lessons on very niche and specific topics. You know how a word appears a lot when you newly learn it? Now, due to my expansion of vocabulary, I started seeing the words I am learning everywhere, and that brings a bit of peace in me, as I think, well, I am learning something.
