For today's discussion, we discussed on the conventions of mental wellbeing and the ways to improve it. I was able to learn a lot of different perspectives to mental health and how to understand my own mind through the conversations that Miss Disa started during our talk.
The several articles discussed the different methods that can be done to help improve mental wellbeing as well as concepts that could help you familiarize yourself with what you may need to do to improve on said mental health.
The first article was rather basic with the topic primarily focused on methods often used to aid in improving mental health. This includes the basic topics of resting and reaching out to other people regarding one's own personal problems. The article puts emphasis in finding community and solidarity in other people.
The second article focuses on gratitude exercises to help with self-confidence and self-reassurance. This particular article focuses more on positive emotions while maintaining and elevating it. The article gives examples of gratitude exercises that can help with stress such as gratitude journal, gratitude conversation, etc. A lot of these processes are very therapeutic but I am not usually the type who promotes positivity? Not in a bad way, I mean it as being positive comes easily for me. All I need to do is quiet down my own mind.
One of the points that stuck out to me the most is the article on mindfulness. They also included a guide on meditation. Mindfulness is basically a state of mind in which you focus primarily on yourself and your own present. This is personally a default state for me but I have trained myself to think rapidly and constantly that I sometimes forget how to take it off now😭
Anyways, it helped me apply some good perspective onto my own mental wellbeing. I will try to make a habit of going to the gym more often and maybe even try meditating again!!!
Yippee
