Aleena Blog 1&2

Not too long I was just writing my first blog for the year, now I’m here again to write about my experience with aep. Every lesson means a new thing to learn. Maybe not every lesson, we just redo the previous but with a little bit more difficulty, which I could say is very helpful for building our skills. This is isn’t even the start of the blog ^_^

Without further ado, let the blog begin!

Aug 14, 2024 -  paraphrasing again?

This time Hyeono got up and did our Squardle. This time, I wasn’t able to say anything because my brain just decided not to. Even if I tried, I don’t think I would’ve helped a lot. Although we tried our best, we only managed to get 16/30.

Afterwards, we were given a paper regarding how to paraphrase. It had step by step examples making it easier for us to understand. I found the paper very useful, it really makes our life’s easier if you’re gonna paraphrase

The only new things we did were paraphrasing, but with actual steps. On the first go, we were told to do it with only the first four steps. Which didn’t include adding extra information or twists, just switching up the words a bit. On the final go, we had to it until step six. The devastating thing is I wasn’t able to finish all the twelve questions. It wasn’t just me, Summer also didn’t finish it, which made me feel a little better because I wasn’t alone.

Aug 21, 2024 - the same worksheet?

We began our lesson with a quick game of Hurdle, one of our least favorite games. I think most of the time I wasn’t really paying attention, my brain wasn't functioning properly. But our pen holder for today was Mysha!! I don't know where or when but when I looked at the board, she was there. After some time, we managed to finish it in five tries, the word was “Decal”. Shortly after the warmup, we were given back our notebooks to check upon our past answers. I was able to get a “good effort” but I’m rooting for an excellent one!

We then had a very quick reading of Dogonews, the article was about Elephants. It started with hyeono and ended with me. Actually not me, the article was a bit longer so some boys got extra lines to read.

First we had to give three points of a question given, then it was quickly checked by Ms Disa. This time we were gonna do the same worksheet but a bit different, it included an overview which meant to add comparison of the data. It was the second period of the class, with only thirty minutes remaining. The stress was slowly rising in me when I realized I barely had any time. I only answered four questions out of who knows what. But at least I wasn’t alone, Summer also didn’t finish it. Actually, I’m not sure if anyone did. But during the writing, Hyeono and Sid suddenly started talking and talking, I’m not familiar with what they were talking about.

Quote of the blog:

“No matter how many times you redo something, it will never be guaranteed that you’ll be perfect at it.”

Blog 3.3 Almira

I haven’t written a blog for quite a long time, and I also haven’t attended aep class for 3 weeks because I went to vacation in Boracay and there was the Musicals and the most recent one was the Holy week, to be honest I dont really remember what we did for aep for the past few weeks I was in class and as long as I can remember we did scrabble and did our seatwork. I dont know what to write about since I dont have anything to talk about the class since I was absent for quite a long time, anyways for the past few weeks I was  absent from aep class I did some cool activities and visited two different islands.  Roughly two weeks ago, I went to Boracay for vacation since it was Eid so we decided to go there for a week I had so much fun there and I really enjoyed it because I went snorkelling and did some other water sports activities. Now the second time I was absent for aep was because of the musicals, it was techinacally a holiday but I think I kinda enjoyed it unfortunate...

3.2

Helloooo!!! How is everyone?? Yup, I am late again, like always — and this time, I really am not sure what to write, as I am constantly getting demolished every day with Cambridge. If you were wondering where I was all this time… well, I was just doing past papers!! OKAY — so this blog was due weeks ago, and the reason I missed it (it’s not procrastination this time!!) is that I was absent during the last two weeks of classes that semester. For one of them, we had our stats mock for Cambridge, which I wonderfully failed, and for the next absence… I don't even remember what happened to me. Maybe I was just dead doing all the past papers. Sorry, Miss Disa — I began procrastinating midway!! Well, I’m going to finish this now. This semester, we started doing lessons on environmental words. It was a pretty easy chapter and fun lessons! Too bad I missed most of them. Anyway, on the first day, Miss Disa gave us some random cut-out words that go together. Me, Meral, and Sashmeen were in ...

End and the start of term!

Helloooo everyone! Welcome with another blast! See, your favorite blogger is not late this time!!! And that is because it's just the start of another term, and the workload from school is quite light. Can you believe it's the last term already?? I am still in disbelief—only 2/3 of grade 11 is left, and then our final year of high school... I don't even want to think about it! We have learned a lot of things in AEP last term, including discovering new games and learning a lot more of Miss Disa's fun anecdotes. AEP this year has taught me a lot of technical terms as we have been getting lessons on very niche and specific topics. You know how a word appears a lot when you newly learn it? Now, due to my expansion of vocabulary, I started seeing the words I am learning everywhere, and that brings a bit of peace in me, as I think, well, I am learning something. We had worksheets on Healthcare, Crime and Punishment, Business, and Politics. My favorite among them was the health...
