Blog 11.1.3. Last week, we began the wonderful class of AEP with a game of "Connections," the one game that makes us absolutely silent for about a good ten minutes of the period. Me personally, I find the game pretty fun, especially watching Ms. Disa get ballistic after seeing Osamah with the magic wand; it's half figuring out the connection and half watching Osamah with the pen make Ms. Disa's head explode.
Anyway, we didn't get it because Osamah tried submitting when we didn't unanimously agree, but alas, it's always just a warmup game! We had two and then completely lost the other two. The thing about Connections is that I really enjoy the pure satisfaction in not getting caught up in red herrings and successfully getting something right in the first shot ... which we haven't gotten last week.
For the remaining time of that period, we were grilled about not finishing our project. Lucky me. I was a little late for the project but was still successful in doing it. Thankfully. Nadia's notifications have not stopped blowing up my phone since last week and I'm over it. I'm always getting these "Let's have a writing session! Come back! I want to watch you breathe again!" and I'm just ... ignoring them for now. I have no idea how to get rid of her voice in the back of my head.
We were given a new unit to work on for this half-term, unit 2. It is about ... politics, which is ironic, considering how the elections for U.S. are coming up this November and the book is, I'm pretty sure, British. It features words such as "ratify", "polarize", "convene" and others. Considering how we're two years away from being able to vote, I don't know if I can memorize these words in time before my vote can even count. I don't follow politics as much as I'd need these words, sadly.
This week, along with the worksheet, we also did multiple games we finished swiftly! Hurdle, Waffle and Squardle, all finished within the midst of 5 minutes each. It was a fun day, with fun new words like "bumfuzzle", "cattywampus", and others. To be honest, when I saw the word, I was completely bumfuzzled at such an atrocious verb. My jokes aren't hitting good today, as you can tell from this extremely dry blog. (sad face)
Anyway, these two weeks have been exciting. A week full of jokes! That's right! Just in time for Lady Gaga's cameo on The Joker releasing next week. Goodbye!
