Hello, everyone. Welcome back to yet another blog! Can you believe it’s already the second term? It still feels like school just started just a few days ago. Anyway, I’m pretty happy right now because it’s the start of another term, and the workload isn’t much at the moment—but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to say that!
As for AEP, everything is going pretty smoothly. On the first day, we basically did nothing but play Scrabble. We started with our usual warm-up, after which Miss discussed the proper way to submit our homework. Then, we headed to the Scrabble table and split into four groups: me and Leo, Sashmeen and Meral, Osamah and Esad, and Sayum and Khalid. It was a tight battle! Sashmeen and Meral ended up winning, while Leo and I came in second place. Not bad, I guess, considering the letter choices we had. Overall, it was a really fun way to kick off the new term.
Miss Disa also posted a form on Google Classroom, asking us what we wanted to learn this semester. I chose Health and Medicine because it’s the topic I’m most interested in, and I felt like it would be the easiest out of all the options.
The next day, Miss Disa announced the votes. Health and Medicine won with the highest number of votes—just two. Thanks to Leo’s vote, it became the topic we’re going to learn about, and I was really happy.
Miss Disa gave us the worksheet, and it was so much easier than the lessons we had before. I mean, come on, we deserved it after dealing with all the weird, complicated words from the Politics and Business chapter! We finished the first two pages of the worksheet, and the exercises were pretty fun. For the first exercise, we had to guess a word that matched three given sentences. We worked on it individually first, and thanks to Sir Martin’s biology lessons, I got all the answers correct. The second exercise was all about abbreviations, where we had to write their full forms. I already knew ER, PM, and ENT surgeon, but now I know so many other healthcare-related abbreviations.
On the next page, there was a table where we had to match terms with their respective connotations. Below that, we had definitions, and we had to write the corresponding terms. This part was a bit trickier than the rest, so I left a few blanks. Miss Disa later discussed all the answers with us. Next week, we’ll have a baby quiz on it, so fingers crossed for that!
As I mentioned, classes are pretty easy on us right now. I really enjoyed learning all the medical terms in AEP, and I hope to get everything right on the quiz. Also, you’ll be hearing from me more often now, as Miss Disa switched us back to the blogging system. So, until the next blog—bye and take care!
