Finished the last and final presentation!! And I think it went pretty well.
To be fair, I think I cheated a little bit when I used my own timer to do my presentation (I am really bad at gauging the time) but it all worked out pretty well.
Backpacking off of my last presentation, as well as my last reflection, I mentioned that I'll be doing another game format in order to further engage the audience. Where last time I only showed pictures on screen that were rather hard to see, I did as promised and brought a real flower to this presentation!
I was quite in a hurry as I had plans to actually just buy flowers from my nearest grocery store but I didn't have the time, so I ended up stealing one from Santolan Plaza on my way home on Tuesday. Oops...
Eh, whatever. It was a singular Peace Lily. No one would miss it, right? I chose a rarer flower on purpose to make the game more engaging. Roses and daisies are a dime a dozen and everyone can easily guess their meanings and names. However, there are over a thousand varieties of lilies and each one has its own specific name. This is such a niche topic but that is personally so interesting to me.
As a flower nerd, I was asked by a few people if I had been able to name the flower I stole and no surprise, it's a yes. I can recognize and name a good variety of flowers, though my knowledge is still quite limited. The Peace Lily just happened to be the flower that caught my eye when I plucked it from the bushes.
Anyways, enough about the flowers. How was the presentation?
It went pretty well, all things considered. I only went a few seconds over time and I practiced a few times the night before. I had better preparation this time, no doubt about that. I'm glad that I remembered my script without needing to look at my notes too much and that I managed to explain quite a bit of the topic without info-dumping like I did last time. I don't think I got perfect of course but it was clearly an improvement.
And now, off to my project!
I posted my AEP project already especially considering how easy it was and all. I haven't written haikus in a good few years but the rules and structure are pretty simple regardless. I finished it rather quickly and I'll post it up in Miss Disa's board once school starts. I couldn't get much of an inspiration so I chose a winter theme for simplicity.
Anyways, that's all.
Thank you for reading!
