『 Blog #3 』 - Jia

『 Blog #3 』 ☀ This is now my third blog writing. I feel like I should write it long again—but it won't be as long as what you think—because I want to. I mean, it looks better with long sentences. Isn’t it? However, I will be talking about what we did in AEP this term for two weeks(it was very fun, I swear). So, everything has begun with scrabble. Which is my favorite until now among all the subjects. It is very fun to think of those words, and find them in dictionaries. But the most important thing is that there is a winner, and technically it's not chosen by knowledge. It’s chosen by luck(that must be the reason I won). Like for example, if you can z or q and get a double word score. If you just keep the score, there is 90% to win the game(I still remember when I got multiple vowels only).  Okay, so the thing is I won the scrabble in the first week. I was with Ana—It was my first time being with her—and had so much fun. Maybe that’s because I won, but I still loved it, you ...

ITS ALREADY 3ND TRIMESTER THAT IS CRAZY. Time goes by so fast like flash I’m excited and nervous at the same time for this 3rd trimester!!  This time I will do my blog different , I’ll just explain what we did most of the time in AEP. Before we get to the main part of our topic of game we always play word puzzles to get our mind moving, it helps us not sleep in AEP heh. Sometimes we also play scrabble which is really fun. I lost my streak sadly :( Jia is really good I’m usually 2nd place. One of my core memorize is dogo news miss makes it so fun to read and has interesting topics ( just like the banana taped on the wall) it will never get out of my mind. We also do listening tasks which is alright I guess. Well anyways this 2nd trimester went by so fast hope to see you next time byeee!!!.

End and the start of term!

Helloooo everyone! Welcome with another blast! See, your favorite blogger is not late this time!!! And that is because it's just the start of another term, and the workload from school is quite light. Can you believe it's the last term already?? I am still in disbelief—only 2/3 of grade 11 is left, and then our final year of high school... I don't even want to think about it! We have learned a lot of things in AEP last term, including discovering new games and learning a lot more of Miss Disa's fun anecdotes. AEP this year has taught me a lot of technical terms as we have been getting lessons on very niche and specific topics. You know how a word appears a lot when you newly learn it? Now, due to my expansion of vocabulary, I started seeing the words I am learning everywhere, and that brings a bit of peace in me, as I think, well, I am learning something. We had worksheets on Healthcare, Crime and Punishment, Business, and Politics. My favorite among them was the health...

blog 3.1

Oh eh, I didnt know we had a blog yet so here's one. Pretty sure we skipped a couple of AEP classes there so I gots nothing to say (how do you describe nothing). But we actually had one (but that and all other AEP periods until musical finishes will be slightly shorter) and yeah its AEP, we do some review of how much we suck (mostly me) and then we learn some new things like describing those car city carpets with before and afters. (also learning the value in not trusting LLM's with everything)

I don't know how it's third term but it is. There are so many and so little school days left at the same time. AEP is still very enjoyable. 1/16/25 We did listening activities, played word games, and read DOGONews. For the first period, we mostly played word games. We played Strands, and ironically, the the theme was 'bar association'. The words were types of cocktails, almost the perfect theme that our age group & religious background wouldn't know anything about (heh). The more memorable part of the day was the second period where we read DOGONews about a banana taped to a wall. A low-effort art piece that could take 3 minutes to create. Definitely not worth $6.2 million, but some people have uncommon sense. While we were reading, we had to stand up & do a spin anytime the reader, Ms Disa, or a person from a video said the word 'banana'. I was both amused & annoyed somehow (I think its called polarized emotion?). After that day, I actually came...

3.1 AEP - Mikayla

Feb- l5 First AEP lesson in third term! after the rough week of finals, we get to enjoy the relaxing class teached by our beautiful Miss Disa.  The class didn’t last long because we had club culmination and we only got one period of class to help our respective clubs. during that one period, we got to do warmups with duotrigordle! it took us a long time to finish and even though we failed to do find all of the words in the site but i had fun trying and we almost got it all correct but our guesses reached  to a max.  Feb- 26

Late to the Party — Leo Blog 3.1

The last stretch of year 11, welcome to the ultimate term where we determine who survives the next maths exam, and who survives the next chemistry exam, or death by the guillotine! Isn't it so exciting? Last term was like finding a needle in a haystack, but not for AEP! AEP last year was a blast, learning about ... (eugh) ... crime and medical terms! While I will  be using words from the medical area, crime just isn't my go-to choice of lexis when it comes to being knowledgeable in words—I'm taking medical degrees in the future, so knowing crime would be of help if I end up joining an affray ... which I hope I don't. Either way, it is good to know your fair share of 'gerrymandering' and 'terminal illnesses' and everything, as learning is key to developing a strong mind. We've learnt a lot over the two terms prior to today, which have truly shaped my mind in the world of business, politics, crime ... and the only one that will be of use to me, medicin...

AEP BLOG 3.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

Welcome to the third term!  Honestly, that sentence sounds unreal to me - didn't the school year just start?  And though I could ramble on and on about how we're moving up way too quickly, I'll save that for some other time.          February 18 - Sorry, "Duo" What??     We started playing Duotrigordle as a really long warm-up.  I was sort of in a daze, but managed to get a few words in.  At some points, we ended up stuck.  Regardless, we persisted and kept on trying even if we were not guaranteed to win.  In the end, we managed to get all the words - just a little bit short on guesses.  I left to pray during break but once I re-entered the classroom, I realized that the lesson was unexpectedly discontinued due to the clubs' culminating activity.         February 26 - To Be Continued

2/25/2025 Scarlet!

Aleena Imran - Blog 3.1 - Grade 9

February 18, 2025 - Failed Duotrigordle? Ever since the year started, we have been trying out new warmups other than the ones we usually do such as wordle, hurdle, waffle and others. In this short lesson, we were given the choice to play Duotrigordle, which has become one of our new favorites. It’s basically solving 37 wordles at once,  but you have to guess it in a certain amount of guesses.   It took us a long time to finish it, around over 20 minutes. This game required a lot of thinking since there’s multiple words to guess at once. Most of the time, it was Sid guessing and talking.  We didn’t exactly fail Duotrigordle, we didn’t guess all the words in the required amount of guesses, but we were still able to proceed guessing, but there’s no winning or awards. I was able to guess a few words, quite surprising since I usually don’t do much in the warmup. February 26, 2025 -  Almost Failing Wordle? Since we didn’t have much time to waste since ...

BLOG 3.1 AEP - Khalid

Here we go again with the new and last term of the school year, it has been really fun as my first year here in FIS and those fun also includes attending AEP.  We have learnt so many different kinds of words for different kinds of topics that I think even Miss Disa has lost count as well. By the "fun" times I mentioned in the first paragraph, I wanna include the fun stuff we do in AEP such as playing scrabble with everyone, Miss Disa's morning stories and even some facts about her (like she does boxing!?). For the last AEP session of the 2nd term, we had our AEP finals which most of us didn't know unfortunately (i don't think some of us checked google classroom). Anyways, the exam was pretty straight forward but I wouldn't say it was easy but oh well I still tried my best and fortunately passed. Since we had some more time to kill after the exam, miss let my classmates and I study for the upcoming final exams the week after.  Let's have another fun term i...

Blog 3.1 - Kristine

Finally done with the 2nd term final exams. It's now the last term for this school year. This school year feels like it's going by very quickly. Only 3 months left before summer break. I can't believe I'm gonna be in 9th grade soon. Anyways, this blog contains padlet from today and last week.  Last week, February 18, 2025, we played games during both periods. The first game we played was Wordle. After playing Wordle, we played a variation of Wordle. Wordle but x32. It took us a while to complete it since it had 32 different Wordles. If I remember correctly it almost took up the entire first period. We then played another game. I forgot what game it was though. I think it was Strands. Lastly, we played Scrabble. Lost once again. This time though, Almira and Yesa won not Selim. I guess his Scrabble luck has finally run out. We played a lot that day. Had fun though. Today, February 25, 2025, we played Strands at the start of the class. It was about chocolate (yum). After p...

blog 3.1 (yesa )

Hello, we did AEP exam. We had our AEP exam a week before the others exam. I was not prepared, and i was having a hard time looking for the answers. I felt scared, nervous, and bored. It wasn’t interesting, but I did have some expectations about the exam, but whenever I found the answer i will feel excited, but I still didn’t like it. We spent 2 periods for the exam, even though we’ve been taking miss Disa’s exams but still, it’s getting harder and harder.   The next week, we didn’t really do anything, because it’s our last semester. What we did was playing scrabble and me and my team won. We also played crossword and scrabble.

Almira (feb 24)

The week before the exams, Miss Disa gave me a  homework because I didn’t manage to do it in class because I was sick the week before, so instead of doing the blog, I completed the reading homework instead. Since the blog is also considered homework, I didn’t have to submit it. The following week was exam week, and we had exams for our major subjects. The exams were quite difficult, but I was able to pass all the exams but not really with flying colours. Last week, we did not have any lessons. Instead, we played a 32-word Wordle, which took almost the entire first period to complete it. During the second period, we played scrabble, and my team won first place! After that, while waiting for the bell to ring, we played Strands.

Blog 3.1 - Selim

So, in the past weeks, we had our exams (not very hard). Last week we just did Wordle at the start, and then we just played scrabble for the whole period. My team got 3rd place. In the exams it was challenging.

2/20/2025 Sayo

Today was the first AEP of the third semester. I think the number of people has increased and it has become a little lively (?). First, we played a word game like we always do. 32ward Wordle made my eyes tired. But it was interesting and I learned a lot of words that I didn't know. I played Scrabble and got the lowest score, but it was fun.

Blog 2.2 - Mikayla

Miss Disa, Im really sorry for being late. My reason for it is that my phone had issues with the password so i reseted my phone but i forgot i had my school email account and i forgot the password to the account so i went to sir M about it and sir M said that he will give it to sir Whey and after a few days, sir whey gave me through coolsis but my coolsis password was ALSO not working properly and the first time i got inside coolsis was when it was the last day of finals. Jan 8  It was the very first meeting of AEP class and during that time,  we did alot of things like we did warmups with wordles and for the rest of the class we analyzed pie charts and also paraphrasing the sentences, which were easy enough for me to understand and enjoy the sheetwork given. Jan 15  The second AEP Class which occurred in january, we didnt do anything thats very different than the first class. We did a different version of a wordle which is the 32 words version of the game, which to...

January 19, 2025!! This year went by so fast. It's already 2025 (still get confused about writing 2025 instead of 2024), and we have to write a new blog post. It's crazy how fast one school year goes by. Anyway, let me talk about my AEP class and what we did. December 5, 2024 We started the day with some Wordle and others, and then we did seatwork. It was not that bad; I just felt sleepy. After that, it was time for SCRABBLE. YAYY. It was really fun for me, and I played with Sayo. The crazy thing was that we won, YAYY. Then, I got a snack for winning, but we shared it with everyone.  December 12, 2024 So we played Scrabble this time again. Started the day with some wordle or other word puzzles and then we played speedy Scrabble. My team was me, Arya, and Iskandar and we won Yay!! January 9, 2025 Woah, it's 2025 already!! In the first period, we played word games, and then in the second period, we played Speedy Scabble. I broke my streak this time, but it's fine; I'...

Miss Disa vs. The airlines

Welcome back, everyone! First off, I apologize for being so late. Second term has been absolutely insane with school workloads and AS-level preparation. Maybe this is what they meant when they said the last two years of high school are just a long, slow burn-out. I think I just failed my chemistry quiz—because seriously, what even were those questions? Being in STEM really does feel like burning in hell sometimes. But even amidst all these breakdowns, AEP has somehow been my one source of relaxation. Lately, AEP classes have been pretty chill, and I honestly love it that way. It’s the only class where I’m not just staring at the board, questioning my entire existence. Speaking of AEP, Miss Disa recently gave us a very important life lesson: never order anything over 5,000 pesos online. Now, this advice didn’t come out of nowhere—it was, of course, backed by one of her classic life anecdotes. And while it was funny to us, for her, not so much. Right on the first day of the second semes...

Pitch for Flight Mechanics Engineer Role – Lockheed Martin Growing up on my family’s farm, I was always fascinated by the mechanics of motion—whether it was the aerodynamics of birds in flight or the efficiency of machines. This curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Stanford, specializing in propulsion, alongside a minor in Mathematics and Scientific Computation, where I delved into algebraic topology. To deepen my expertise, I earned my Master’s and Ph.D. in Aero/Astro Engineering from MIT, focusing on advanced flight mechanics and aerodynamic optimization. My passion for physics, mechanics, and aviation aligns perfectly with the role of Flight Mechanics Engineer at Lockheed Martin. I have conducted independent research in aircraft stability, interned at leading aerospace firms, and worked on ventures pushing the boundaries of aerodynamics. My interdisciplinary background, including a minor in Environmental Science—rooted in my upbr...
