Blog#3.1 - Arya V, G7

I don't know how it's third term but it is. There are so many and so little school days left at the same time. AEP is still very enjoyable.

1/16/25

We did listening activities, played word games, and read DOGONews. For the first period, we mostly played word games. We played Strands, and ironically, the the theme was 'bar association'. The words were types of cocktails, almost the perfect theme that our age group & religious background wouldn't know anything about (heh).

The more memorable part of the day was the second period where we read DOGONews about a banana taped to a wall. A low-effort art piece that could take 3 minutes to create. Definitely not worth $6.2 million, but some people have uncommon sense. While we were reading, we had to stand up & do a spin anytime the reader, Ms Disa, or a person from a video said the word 'banana'. I was both amused & annoyed somehow (I think its called polarized emotion?). After that day, I actually came across the story multiple times in the following weeks.

2/20/25

In the first period, we played Duotrigordle, or 32-word Wordle. It was really disorienting at first, seeing way too many Wordles at the same time. However, I realized that it's better to either focus on 1 Wordle or to put a random word out instead of overthinking things. There were some words I didn't know existed. The more progress we made the easier & less intimidating it got. (p.s first AEP w/ Mohamed & Fatmah !)

We played Speedy Scrabble in the second period. 4 teams: Me & Muhsin; Busra, Iskandar & Mohamed; Scarlet, Sayo & Fatmah; and Ana & Jia. With no one absent & new students, our class felt so much bigger than before. 10 students unlike the usual 6-7 students.

The letters my team were getting were horrible, most of the time having 1-3 points. We started getting letter Q a bunch by the end, but there was nowhere to use it. In addition to that, there were great words we could've made if we had just gotten 2 letters together (e&y) but we never did !! We relied on using other teams' high-point letters & stealing premium squares (I just learnt they're called that) for high-scoring words. I think I'm more competitive when it comes to Scrabble.

We got 3rd (behind by 3pts), behind Busra, Iskandar & Mohamed, and the winners were Ana & Jia. It was originally a close game until the very last turn (Ana & Jia's), where they managed to score 30 points immediately promoting them to first. Good game !!

AEP still doesn't feel like a normal school subject and I still have the same opinion as I (think) I did on the first day. I'm not sure since time feels like a blur, and there's already only a few months of school left.

Blog 3.3 Almira

I haven’t written a blog for quite a long time, and I also haven’t attended aep class for 3 weeks because I went to vacation in Boracay and there was the Musicals and the most recent one was the Holy week, to be honest I dont really remember what we did for aep for the past few weeks I was in class and as long as I can remember we did scrabble and did our seatwork. I dont know what to write about since I dont have anything to talk about the class since I was absent for quite a long time, anyways for the past few weeks I was  absent from aep class I did some cool activities and visited two different islands.  Roughly two weeks ago, I went to Boracay for vacation since it was Eid so we decided to go there for a week I had so much fun there and I really enjoyed it because I went snorkelling and did some other water sports activities. Now the second time I was absent for aep was because of the musicals, it was techinacally a holiday but I think I kinda enjoyed it unfortunate...

the cost of giving up — Leowyn Blog 3.3

Today was the assignment of the final, retrospective blog we would do to encapsulate everything we've seen and learnt in AEP for Grade 11. It's a miracle I'm still smiling across the hallways, filled with days where I'm really just like "what is happening?" This year has really went by so fast and so soon, so here I am, in the final stretch of the year, seeking solace in the summer break (which I won't be getting due to college applications and my AS Levels.) Here's the rundown of what we've done in each term, paired with the titles of my blogs on those terms: Term One: eternal sunshine, ***Flawless, The Joker, Repeat Term 1 was one of the most grueling terms for me in AEP, mainly because of the unit topics. Learning business terms and political terms even though I explicitly said, to everyone in my life, I would never touch a business topic ever again ... but there I was, running around with 'gerrymandering' in my head 24/7. It was good p...

Helloooo!!! How is everyone?? Yup, I am late again, like always — and this time, I really am not sure what to write, as I am constantly getting demolished every day with Cambridge. If you were wondering where I was all this time… well, I was just doing past papers!! OKAY — so this blog was due weeks ago, and the reason I missed it (it’s not procrastination this time!!) is that I was absent during the last two weeks of classes that semester. For one of them, we had our stats mock for Cambridge, which I wonderfully failed, and for the next absence… I don't even remember what happened to me. Maybe I was just dead doing all the past papers. Sorry, Miss Disa — I began procrastinating midway!! Well, I’m going to finish this now. This semester, we started doing lessons on environmental words. It was a pretty easy chapter and fun lessons! Too bad I missed most of them. Anyway, on the first day, Miss Disa gave us some random cut-out words that go together. Me, Meral, and Sashmeen were in ...
