Today was the assignment of the final, retrospective blog we would do to encapsulate everything we've seen and learnt in AEP for Grade 11. It's a miracle I'm still smiling across the hallways, filled with days where I'm really just like "what is happening?" This year has really went by so fast and so soon, so here I am, in the final stretch of the year, seeking solace in the summer break (which I won't be getting due to college applications and my AS Levels.)
Here's the rundown of what we've done in each term, paired with the titles of my blogs on those terms:
Term One: eternal sunshine, ***Flawless, The Joker, Repeat
Term 1 was one of the most grueling terms for me in AEP, mainly because of the unit topics. Learning business terms and political terms even though I explicitly said, to everyone in my life, I would never touch a business topic ever again ... but there I was, running around with 'gerrymandering' in my head 24/7. It was good practice, for sure, and it definitely is a good thing I know terms that I'll be seeing on the news, in work, or in general life.
Term Two: Blood, Sweat & Tears, Fool's Paradise
Term 2 was also pretty stressful, considering how I had STEM Congress bashing me with assignments throughout the term. Thankfully, we were able to do just politics and medicine that term, which greatly increased my chances in not dying of burnout by memorizing business terms, politics, and the like, all while attempting to do my presentations during the STEM Congress. It's alright, though, because I enjoyed AEP with the activities we got to do!
Term Three: Late to the Party, Abracadabra, the cost of giving up
Term 3, which is ongoing right now, has been no less of a hassle. With the AS Levels coming by, I've had to switch between studying and learning at home and at school respectively. Despite that, AEP has been quite a breath of relief, as we did a topic I finally do like—environment and problems affecting them! Yay! While the term passes and the year ends, AEP has been fun because of the games and the new words we're learning. They're familiar, yet some have been interestingly novel to my meager little brain. Can't wait to use it in my next biology exam!
Overall, the year went by quite fast, and I can say I have enjoyed my time in AEP. We've learnt more than enough words to survive in the vastness of adult life, and I've been incorporating the vocabulary into everyday language quite smoothly. Here's to next year!
