AEP Reflection 2.3 “The final *final* hopefully”

Good day fellow readers! Welcome back to anothah reflection~!  Phew, its already our last presentation  As I’m writing this reflection, I realize how careless I was about managing my Wi-Fi or, in this case, not paying attention to the data I was using. Lo and behold, my entire reflection—yes, the whole thing—was not saved. I don’t understand why it didn’t save while I was using mobile data, but I guess my signal was poor at the time. Maybe the connection was weak when I exited the site. Either way, I’ve learned my lesson. I’m never going to let that happen again. From now on, I’ll make sure to do all my reflections at home, where I have a stable internet connection. Anyway, this week we had to deliver our last presentation—thankfully, the last one! Miss Disa confirmed it today, and honestly, it’s such a relief. I’ve learned a lot from the two presentations we did earlier, but the feedback we received today was especially eye-opening. For years, every teacher who critiqu...

reflection 2

reflecting on my presentation about  juice world, I  realize I underestimated how hard it would be to present this particular topic . Before I thought it would be straightforward, but as I prepared or more of.... didn't prepare.I began to feel nervous about how it might turn out. On the day of the presentation, I wasn't particularly scared to present in front of the class but my lack of knowledge and knowing I had practised as I should have. Looking back, I realize the importance of practising and preparing beforehand. you should not rely on confidence only especially with topics I'm not comfortable with. the experience taught me to plan what I want to say and to rehearse to ensure I can present with confidence in the future

Saksham Kumar - Reflection 1

Today, we stepped into the spotlight to present PowerPoint presentations on topics we’re passionate about. The range was incredible—our class covered everything from flowers to AI, and just about everything in between. It was inspiring to see such diversity in interests and the effort everyone put into their projects. I shared my passion project, SkyBridges , which felt both exciting and nerve-wracking. It was a chance to articulate something meaningful to me, and I think it resonated with some of my classmates. In true "death by PowerPoint" fashion, we gave Ms. Disa exactly what she asked for. After our presentations, she offered us thoughtful suggestions on how to improve and even shared some videos to help us refine our skills for our next modified presentation. Her feedback was constructive, and I’m excited to see how we all evolve as presenters. We rounded off the day with a lively game of Scrabble, which was a perfect way to wind down and have some fun together. Overall...

Today, we concluded our final presentations on topics we are deeply passionate about, and it was both an exhilarating and reflective experience. In preparing for this moment, I took Ms. Disa's feedback to heart, making significant changes to my presentation. One of the biggest shifts was removing all the text and using pictures instead, which made the slides more engaging and visually appealing. To ensure the presentation was comprehensive and met the time requirements, I added more slides, diving deeper into my topic to expand on its various facets. I presented SkyBridges, my personal passion project. It was a joy to share something so close to my heart with the class. I began by explaining what SkyBridges is and its purpose, followed by an introduction to our fleet. I then showcased the sites we operate in and concluded with an overview of our humanitarian mission, which holds a special place in the project. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't present my websit...

Mysha M - Blog 2.1

Finally, - after months of deep frustration, immense annoyance, and multiples asks to be invited - I am back,  my weary fingers once again grace this wretched website. Last I was here, I was but a mere eighth grader, with the "H" still attached to my keyboard. Now, I am not much different, just a little bit older (wiser? that's debatable) and regrettably, a little less H.  As the collectable statues I’ve meticulously arranged along the wall silently bear witness to my struggle, let us embark on a journey through the chaos of the past few weeks, shall we? I am not excited.  November 6, 2024 - Yikes. Erm. What a day. After revising the curriculum for the next term, we began a troublesome game of Scrabble. Creative alien-ish words like "schlored" entered the match. Definition? That's open to interpretation. Is it even real? Well, does it look real to you?  Eventually, me. Aleena and Summer won. Yeah. I'm not gonna say anything else. Memorable day for bad ...

aep blog 2.1 hyeono

Nov 6 The new start if the 2nd term, we're we had a good start in the start with a short explanation of this term topic and learnings, it was a same thing as the 1st term but more into it, after the explanation we had a scrabble match were all of the grade 9 students are playing together in a one table, I had a team with rayan. The problem was that we did concentrate and was so sensitive that we had so much argue in it so after a few day of the game we got a warning that we will not be playing scrabble anymore. I understand Nov 11 It was a day of a new student joining our aep class so for her start we hand her the "pen" and played a long game of squardle, it was fun.  After that cause of the punishment last week we had a long time seatwork about graphs again getting a very thick paper, I couldn't finished it, actually it wasn't a really bad day expecting a punishment from last week but just had a warning of no game.  Nov 20 We started with an another game of scrab...

AEP BLOG 2.1 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

My desk is half-cluttered - several papers are scattered about and paraphernalia crowd the furthermost corners of my workspace.  For the first time in what feels like forever, though, the center of my desk carries my fingers breezing through a pastel pink keyboard to write my very first AEP blog of the year.     As Grade 8-ers, we have always heard myths and warnings about advancing to Grade 9 - and, well, they were not wrong.  Through the infant-ish brain filling my rigid skull, I instantly knew that AEP this year was going to be a lot more difficult, a lot more challenging.  Was I ready? November 6 - Satan's Scrabble     Oh please - Scrabble is usually a delight (perhaps), trust me.  Though today, we played a game.  And The Devil joined us.     Excitedly, we hurried to our seats and assigned our teams.   And so, with a timer in my hands, the game begun.  Mysha, as always, faced what...

AEP Reflection 2.2 “Uplifting and lookbacks”

Welcome back, readers, to another funky AEP reflection! This is the second one this term are you ready? OK, so one thing I try to remind myself of is that I’m typing an essay, so it should be in an essay-like format and not in a podcast-like format. But honestly, I really enjoy reading essays that have this kind of casual, conversational tone. Anyway, I’m going off-topic… Oops This time in AEP class, we went through all the other presentations one more time, taking note of Miss Disa’s feedback from last time. I’ll be honest with you.. I totally forgot that she uploaded a link for us to watch. But I still tried my best for the presentation that was coming up. Well, it was the best I could do at that specific time, but honestly, it wasn’t my actual best, and she definitely noticed. That was a little embarrassing, but oh well, it is what it is. That week didn’t feel like much, to be honest. It was a pretty simple week with just our normal classes. I think it was just generally re...

Garbage Collection??? - Aire M.

Hello! What a great day it is, to be here in AEP. Last year, I was told that I would be moving back to Filipino, but that changed, and now I'm back! I'm glad to be here, even if the essays I have to write are endless. I'm quite at home here, in Miss Disa's cramped room, using a language I like. Completely content and at home. But what is this home like? On the 5th and 6th period of a Wednesday, take a peek through the small looking glass and here's what you will find inside... ~ NOVEMBER 6, 2024 Today was a little strange. Instead of diving head-first into a warm-up, we talked about term 1's accomplishments and how we would be moving forward. Moving on from the overview writing, we decided to lean more onto vocabulary instead. After a little chat, we moved to Scrabble for some fun. It got chaotic, but it was nosier than usual. I still had a bit of fun, especially when I was able to work and have fun with our new classmate Mika! We got last place, though. NOVEMBE...

Fresh new start of the semester 2nd trimester is a crazy time so fast. It is such a relaxing class almost makes me wanna sleep aha hah just Just kidding :> November  7, 2024 So our first period was just talking about random stuff which was pretty entertaining and calming then for the second period we just played Scrabble which was our main activity. Anaa was not there ( the AEP that she missed sadly:<) Anyway the group was divided into pairs which were Me and Muhsin it was alright. And then Jia and Sayo there were so strong like wow. And lastly, Arya and Scarlet were the funny group who felt kinda bad since they had really bad letters it was like Me and Muhsin = Turkish then Jia and Sayo  = Japanese they were talking with each other in Japanese, and then Arya and Scarlet = Filipino since they both know it anyways Jia and Sayo won then me and Muhsin got 2nd and Scarlet and Arya got last ill try harder next time scrabble so fun. November 14, 2024 Anaa came back and ...

Aleena Imran - Blog 1 Term 2 - Grade 9

It is only the start of a new term, and yet I'm here writing another blog. It seems too soon to happen, doesn't it? Writing blogs almost feels like a routine, every term means new blogs. Or maybe a habit? The first thought I get from AEP is blogs, nothing else. But every aep lesson is slightly different than the other, and I'm here writing to tell you every detail of it! Whether chaotic, calm or stressful, I'm always here to deliver a new blog! This blog doesn't just include one week of our lessons, not two, but three! This is gonna be a long one.  Without further ado, let the blog begin!   November 6, 2024 -  Unauthentic Students and Screwy Scrabble?! To our surprise, some students from our grade had not been authentic with their blogs and Homework’s. We had quite a serious discussion regarding this with Ms Disa. We all sat there listening to Ms, quietly and respectfully. She was informing us on how to properly submit our assignments. I found this quit...

Reflection 2 -- SEM 2 -- Adi Syachrin

Second reflection of the second semester and man... why is this so frustrating for no reason? I recall just in my very last reflection I spoke on how this topic is relatively fun and I'm hoping to expand more on my presentation skills with this. However, after that second presentation, I realize how difficult it actually is to deliver a more engaging presentation. In all seriousness, I'm positive that the reason why my presentation ended up being as sub-par as it was is because I tried fitting more information than last time just because our presentation time was extended by 2 minutes and that caused me to over-explain way too many things. I once again rushed my presentation which caused this lapse in my progress. However, I was pretty pleased at the fact that Miss seemed to prefer this second presentation more since I included the extra game at the end that would help engage my audience even more. I mostly liked how that game also just made it even more fun for me to present,...

I printed it today too. I still feel like I'm missing a lot. I can understand that this is important when listening in Japanese, but it is difficult to understand in English. So it's quite difficult. I think I need to practice listening more. There may also be some tips for listening in English, so I want to have fun while looking for them. There are many spelling mistakes after that. Sometimes it's because I don't know the words, but I often end up making big mistakes in my predictions. We have to improve those too.

Start of Another Term:DD

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to yet another blog! Can you believe it’s already the second term? It still feels like school just started just a few days ago. Anyway, I’m pretty happy right now because it’s the start of another term, and the workload isn’t much at the moment—but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to say that! As for AEP, everything is going pretty smoothly. On the first day, we basically did nothing but play Scrabble. We started with our usual warm-up, after which Miss discussed the proper way to submit our homework. Then, we headed to the Scrabble table and split into four groups: me and Leo, Sashmeen and Meral, Osamah and Esad, and Sayum and Khalid. It was a tight battle! Sashmeen and Meral ended up winning, while Leo and I came in second place. Not bad, I guess, considering the letter choices we had. Overall, it was a really fun way to kick off the new term. Miss Disa also posted a form on Google Classroom, asking us what we wanted to learn this semeste...

Second Term | Blog 2.1 AEP 11 | Shasmeen

During the summer, I had been bracing myself for the transition from tenth grade to senior high, expecting it to feel like being pushed into a freezing-cold pool - jarring, overwhelming, and utterly disorienting. In reality, it felt more like turning on Do Not Disturb on your phone before bed, only to wake up and realize that the world had been moving on quietly without you. I'm not trying to state that this new chapter has been without challenges - AEP itself proves that there is still so much to learn - it's just that life feels so bland nowadays, but in an exceptionally refreshing way.       On November 6th, we began our first session of the second term with a recap of the previous one. I quite enjoyed the first term's lessons, which were about terms in the business and political sphere. It's both intriguing and entertaining to see things like "lame-duck" and "banana republic" in the same test as "bipartisan" and "fascism"...

BLOG 1 ~ Sem 2~ Scarlet

I guess this is my first blog in the second term. I can’t believe it’s November already! These AEP classes are really fun, and I’m really grateful for Miss Disa. She’s really fun; I love hearing her jokes. A little Scrabble recap: me and Arya vs. Busra and Muhsin, and the last one was Sayo and Jia. I guess AEP has its bad and good moments, but yeah, I know in the future AEP will definitely get harder. For now, let’s enjoy the moments while we are in Grade 7. I appreciate your teaching, Miss Disa. Maybe AEP has its fast and slow moments in class that make everyone very sleepy, but I love AEP so much, including the teacher. Wordle sometimes is really funny. Once, the class was yelling at me when we were playing Squaredle because the switches were running out. I felt pretty pressured, but it’s alright!

"Starting out AEP..." Khalid's Blog

Starting out AEP was something quite new to me, somewhat like a shock. Since I joined the school late, I missed a bit of lessons from the subject. Seeing words like "bumfuzzled" or "lame duck" really got me so confused at first and was rethinking if I'm even learning English or a whole different language. I then got to know that we were learning different kinds words relating in both the political and business fields.  I was a little worried as I had a hard time trying to understand these words at first and what they meant so I was not confident at all if we had seat-works or different activities relating to our lesson. Me being a not so knowledgeable person about any political or business topics made it even more confusing for me. Good thing Ms. Disa's classes are really chill and gives us a warmup with different word games like Wordle or Waffle to let our minds run. When the finals were announced I decided to study the best I can with the words which was w...

Blog #1 (Sem 2) - Selim

It's already the 2nd term! And this is my first blog. We started the term by discussing our topics from the last term which we could improve on, and we played games like Scrabble and word games on the board. For the past 2 weeks, we've been working on a reading activity which was quite okay. It was a pretty decent start to a new term.

Term Two Thoughts- Meral- AEP 11- Blog 2.1

It's been so long that I've forgotten how to write blogs. I've also got the sudden urge to talk about how this school year has been going so far- let's say it's been quite the adjustment stepping into 11th grade, and I'm still trying to get used to it. New study tactics, new responsibilities, new worries, new everything. On the bright side though, I'm finding most of my subjects more interesting than ever. Anyway, enough of my rambling—hello there! It's been a bit since the start of the second term, but now that quizzes are coming up, maybe it hasn't been that little of a bit. Anyhow, in AEP, we started this new term on November 6, and the first thing we did was recap all that's been said and done. So, it feels fitting to give you a quick rundown of the first term. We covered Units 1 and 2, which focused on business and political terms. I can't say I'm particularly interested in either, but they're definitely useful nonetheless. Just ...

Reflection 1 -- SEM 2 -- Adi Syachrin

This is now the start of our 2nd semester of Grade 12!! Can't say much for now if anything has changed in my development but I'm steadily getting used to the brunt of the Grade 12 workload. Of course, everything is still hard, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. My finals were quite hell and I was incredibly disappointed since I happened to do worse than my midterms   😭  Of course, no failing grade or anything, but I happened to have hoped for something better from my grades. I don't know what I was thinking hoping for that despite not putting as much effort into my studies... The project with our personal statement was OKAY. I happened to write an essay that may stand out and so it was only a matter of a few more edits. I submitted what I already had but I'm planning to continue refining it in the next few weeks until I have to submit it. Despite that, I'm unsure if I'll still push through with applying to a school overseas considering the fact that ...

Saksham Kumar 2.1

Today's class was a vibrant showcase of passions and creativity, as everyone presented topics close to their hearts. My favorite presentation was Adi's, which delved into the language of flowers. It was fascinating to see how flowers can communicate profound messages without a single word, expressing emotions and stories through their beauty and symbolism. Adi's insights brought a fresh perspective to something we often take for granted, leaving me more curious about the hidden meanings behind floral arrangements. For my presentation, I shared my passion project, SkyBridges . It’s a venture that combines my love for flying and making a difference. SkyBridges partners with flying schools and tourism companies to offer eco-historical aerial tours, which I narrate as an in-flight guide. Beyond tourism, the initiative has a humanitarian mission—100% of the profits fund aid drops to isolated tribes and provide flood relief through airlifts. Presenting this to my peers allowed me...

Ayessha (2.1 #1)

Hello! Two weeks ago was our first AEP class for semester two. It was interesting because Miss Disa asked us about what we want to learn for this semester, and I said vocabulary. We played scrabble , we just did something very simple that day, and it felt happy and relaxed. Unfortunately I didn't win, but Almira did and but it was fun.  Last week we started our AEP class by playing strands, it took us quiet some times. Our first activity was vocabulary. I was excited but also nervous, Miss Disa gave us five words each or maybe four. We had to look up the meanings for each words in dictionary, the next thing we did was doing some mini quiz, we used the wheel of names and tell the meanings of the words. After the vocabulary quiz we did seatwork, I didn't expect there will be seatwork. The seatwork wasn't easy, and I felt kind of confused. It was good.

Blog #1 (S2) - Kristine

First blog for this term! It seems like time truly does fly fast. Three weeks ago we had our first meeting for this term. Miss Disa began the class by making us play Strands and afterward telling us what we were gonna do for this term. She also asked us about which topics we didn't understand/needed help in. We then played Scrabble for the whole second period. Almira won. That was pretty fun, I enjoyed it a lot. Come to think of it, the only reason why I know how to play Scrabble is because of AEP. Today is our third meeting for this term. We played Squardle as our warm-up game today. After playing Squardle, we did a seatwork. The seatwork was hard. I got confused and lost. Anyway after that, we had to read a DOGOnews article about  Utqiaġvik, Alaska and how the town will experience its final sunset for this year on November 19, 2024. According to the article, they'll see the sun again on January 23, 2024 (65 days of no Sun, wow!). We then played Waffle and Contexto since we ...
