the cost of giving up — Leowyn Blog 3.3

Today was the assignment of the final, retrospective blog we would do to encapsulate everything we've seen and learnt in AEP for Grade 11. It's a miracle I'm still smiling across the hallways, filled with days where I'm really just like "what is happening?" This year has really went by so fast and so soon, so here I am, in the final stretch of the year, seeking solace in the summer break (which I won't be getting due to college applications and my AS Levels.) Here's the rundown of what we've done in each term, paired with the titles of my blogs on those terms: Term One: eternal sunshine, ***Flawless, The Joker, Repeat Term 1 was one of the most grueling terms for me in AEP, mainly because of the unit topics. Learning business terms and political terms even though I explicitly said, to everyone in my life, I would never touch a business topic ever again ... but there I was, running around with 'gerrymandering' in my head 24/7. It was good p...

Absence- Meral- AEP 11- Blog 3.2

Honestly, I'm unsure what to write for this blog since I was absent two-thirds of the time- either due to mocks or falling sick. This third term has definitely had a messy beginning for me, with everything clumped together- school, musicals, and AS levels fast approaching. I fear it will only get busier from here, now that midterms are over and we're onto the last stretch of chaos. For AEP, though, we started a new unit focused on Environmental Science, which explores nature and how humans interact with it. I find this topic particularly relevant since it directly affects our daily lives and provides a clearer picture of the climate crisis we're facing today. One Wednesday, on February 26th, we kicked off class with a friendly round of Waffle, which we successfully completed! Miss Disa then grouped us into three's with my group consisting of Naboni, Shasmeen and I. We were handed out paper cutouts of collocations to mix and match. After a few mishaps- papers flying due ...

Blog 3.2 - Khalid

I'm not really sure but I think this is the last blog of the term unless miss lets us do other blogs in the future. Anyways let's talk about what's been going on in AEP lately.  Honestly not much has been going on since most of the times, maybe ninety percent of my classmates don't show up in AEP most probably because they have the AS level mock exams while others are absent or just doing their own thing. Even though most of my classmates aren't there, miss Disa has been making AEP fun by giving us nice activities and telling us different stories about her life. We've been playing scrabble mostly but last session miss gave us a project/midterm which is to write an epitaph about yourself in eight words which was really challenging and made it fun as well.  I think that is pretty much it to what has been happening with AEP lately, see nothing much right?

Nada Ahmed-Blog#3.2

To get back to the subject of social media (for the umpteenth time), it is a world of curated perfection where everyone seems to fit neatly into trending aesthetics, polished opinions, and filtered smiles. However, if you're bending yourself to fit the mold to undermine the real you, trying to keep up with other highlights will only dim your light. It's exhausting, isn't it? To perform, please post as if your worth is hanging on likes and comments. The world does not need another copy; it needs raw, messy, beautiful authenticity that only we can bring. Sincerely, you don't need to smile when you don't feel like it. Agree with popular texts that don't sit right or show up just for approval. It's ok to step back to protect your peace and let the people see you without the masks. Not everyone will applaud those who truly see you; however, those who do will appreciate your authenticity . Dare to be imperfect. It's how real connections are made—not by the pe...

I honestly gave up at attempting to order these consistently

Guess who learned that gifs work as photos and not videos on this site the hard way. Anyways yeah AEP blog, the current topics we are doing aren't too bad so far... somewhat. maps arent that bad and so is the passive tense (which is somehow in the same group as time-based tenses (which is news to me)) Also that one exercise of having us parrot what the other person said +1 was definitely something. I am unsure if I would like to replay that,,, ever. Oh yeah what we actually did... uhhh,,, like we finished 2(?) worksheets and did a proper essay, whooo (this is def not /s #-#)

BLOG #3.2 - Mika

Still cant believe how much time we spent at school that its midterms already! The classes were very enjoyable and very fun to be at, it also helps me alot in improving myself  March 5 - Different warmup?  That day, instead of using a game displayed at the board, we did a new kind of warmup that Miss learned from podcast. The game was actually fun and exciting, i enjoyed the warmup very much. The game was like a memory game, each person has to give a location for a vacation and the next person has to say what the person before have said and add another location. and it just increases overtime  And we also dove into the topic we learned before but more deeper now, which are maps! we did a worksheet also about the topic and another topic which is passive sentence following it March 12 - Essay.  Last meeting wasnt as enjoyable as the one before, we started the lesson normally with a hurdle warmup. it was fine at first, we did some guessing and stuff. but then when after...

Aleena Imran - BLOG #3.2 - Grade 9

I honestly cannot believe we are already halfway through the third term, it feels like we started it yesterday. This will be one of the last blogs we’ll be writing for the school year, which seems so crazy. As much as I’m not fond of writing blogs, it’s still a reminder that we shared our moments together in AEP.   March 5, 2025 -  An Off-Board Warmup? This warmup was unlike our other ones. We usually have our warmups on the board, such as Wordle, Hurdle or waffle. But this time, all we had on the board was a map. Everyone had to state one sentence about the two maps shown on the screen, but there was a plot twist, you had to remember what the previous person stated and add on to it. As more people stated their sentences, it only got difficult, it meant you had to remember more sentences, but in the correct order. I wasn’t able to remember the sentences in order, but I still enjoyed watching other students struggling to remember the sentences.  Later on, we g...

Abracadabra — Leo Blog 3.2

This term, we've begun with a list of terms related to environment, ranging from the devastating crises happening around the globe to the lovely descriptions of catastrophes caused by man. While it's a very fun and a not-so content-heavy topic, it reminds us that we can't say ' abracadabra ' to felled trees and watch as they rise from the ashes of our ancestors. Well, it's a shame, really. Would've loved to see some of the forests and wildlife that existed before the world began pumping steam and breathing coal. The first thing we did when we got to the third term was pairing words to form collocations. There were a variety of them, 42 collocations to be exact, and we had to figure them out. Most were easy, words we knew were things like 'climate change' or 'heat wave', but some were new. 'Paddy farming', 'septic tanks' and other words were quite interesting. Unfortunately, I wasn't there for the AEP period the week after...

Reflection 3.1

We started our last term, which means we are getting closer to graduation. In class, we planned what we will do this term. It was helpful because now we know what to expect and how to prepare. I want to stay focused, do my best, and enjoy these last months of school before we graduate.

AEP Reflection #3.2 “March chronicles”

Welcome back to anothah reflection! Alright, the more exclamation points I add.. the larger my misery is. Everyone, this is the specialty of March. Oh hoho..   This time in AEP we welcomed a new topic! Now, we are focusing on speech writing. Growing up, the process of speech writing always found its way to my heart. Little by little it ended up being such a great part of my life until this day. Im referring it to so many ways; whether it would be through negotiating for grades, schoolwork, groupwork, team-building activities and debate.  However, the more and more I practice speech. I realised how I slowly forgot how its like to write a proper speech; considering impromptu speeches were something that came naturally. Its not a skill for someone to brag about, especially if it is something that has been in the making ever since primary school. In fact, I believe its too long for what I have; almost embarrassing. Sometimes, I would question: “Why on earth am I not like my...

REFLECTION# 3.2

Exploring how emotions are included in storytelling and speeches allows me to see the bridge one builds with  the audience and how much the message becomes more meaningful and portrayed in memory. In today's warm-up session, we worked on how emotion affects speeches, particularly in light of the next graduation speech. We broached such issues as joy, nostalgia, gratitude, hope, and even anxiety. But then we came to realize these emotions were not purely subjective states or feelings but rather ways of establishing what could be considered commonality between people. Listening to personal stories made us realize that showing emotion during a speech is not a sign of weakness. Rather, it is a tool that makes the speech relatable, engaging, and alive. One important lesson learned is that speech delivery entails way more than just actual words; it encompasses how we deliver those words. The tone may carry the message, pacing may deliver it, and pauses or emphasis may alter it ent...

Reflection 8 -- SEM 3 -- Adi Syachrin

Today, Miss introduced our next topic for Term 3: Graduation speeches. I was personally very intrigued with this topic even when she first introduced it as I always had hoped of being able to deliver my own graduation speech. Thanking my classmates , my teachers, my family, all of those components are the rare moments where I'm willing to stand in front of a crowd, absorbing publicity. It saddened me quite a bit when they said that I was no longer eligible for valedictorian (because I joined in grade 8 and DepEd requires for you to be apart of the school since grade 7 😭) which also meant I wouldn't be doing a graduation speech. But this exercise was a good opportunity to overcome that. I'm not someone who's a big fan of speeches, although I admit that I have enough skills to deliver a good one. My main flaw is that I yap to much which can sometimes derail me from the main speech but it's not too bad of a hindrance. As long as I keep to my notes, I can mostly deliv...

Reflection 7 -- SEM 3 -- Adi Syachrin

I'll keep this short and sweet <3 We finally did our character job interviews today! Truth be told, I had been dreading this day as I kept on avoiding my preparations and practice. Anything involving some sort of "presentation" always makes my palms sweat. As proud as I was with my Marshall character, I was worried if I could really live up to that demeanor. As Miss said, our "mini me" is supposed to be the better, near-perfect version of ourselves. Marshall is not a "perfect" person per se, but he is most definitely someone I wished I could be, and I'm sure that I managed to play him quite well in that interview. It was interesting since becoming "Marshall" allowed me to be the most honest version of myself, in a weird turn of events. As him, I could be someone who I really wanted to be and I was able to speak my truth.  I'm someone who loves film, I'm someone who loves writing, I'm someone who yearns to be a screenwriter...

AEP Reclection 3.1 “Wrapping wrappers”

h Good Day fellow readers! Its been a while hasnt it?  Welcome to the 3rd semester! Actually, one thing I always remember about this last term is how Ms Disa always makes sure to remind us how we still have an entire semester left. “Its not the end of the school year yet.” she’d say with conviction.  Well, she is definitely right.. but I guess the cogs in students’ brains work a little differently.  In our eyes, the welcoming of the third tirm is the last battle. I’d like to describe it as a battle because, really that’s what it feels like. This year, we are also fasting along with the musical preparation. In which we only have a month left for. Along with an array of major exams at the end of each month until we are graduating.  Although the cherry on the top: cie exams this may-june. On the contrary, as much as Im aware its a blessing on its own to be this busy.. it really is a long fight. Its a fight of priorities, time management and trade-offs. I’ll be honest I ...

Being Atticus Ain't Easy/reflection 3.1

Today's role-play setting was on edge since I had to role-play Atticus Finch at a job interview. While I definitely admire his wisdom and strong moral fiber, I found it very tough to respond to questions in his voice while under such pressure. I had a lot of thoughts in my head while answering the questions, but straightening up those thoughts during the interview was difficult sometimes, and probably, my answers were not as in-depth and confident as they should have been. Atticus is the personification of calm logic and unparalleled ethics, but trying to capture his persuasiveness in such a situation and tense atmosphere was missing for me. My nervousness clouded my thinking, and my otherwise efficient mind was rendering even the most believable of my responses far weaker than I could have expected.  This situation had taught me several things regarding composure and preparation. Should I get into something like this again, I'd like to allow myself more time to build possib...

The Final Stretch- Meral- AEP 11- Blog 3.1

Hello readers! It's been a bit strange these days- like, on one hand, I thought school should've ended by now, but on the other hand, it almost feels like second term just started. But according to my calendar, third term already begun, so I guess we're onto the final stretch of the school year. The Paradox of Time. Crazy, right? Junior year has been this never-ending blur of the same routine as I continue to count down the days to graduation. Kidding... well, sometimes. But here we are, so let's get straight to our agenda for today! Picking up where we left off (of what I deemed a cliffhanger), Miss Disa handed us worksheets on the unit of Crime and Punishment. By the end of the period, we had covered everything from the lexicon of crime to the perpetrators and their collocates.  I've mentioned this before, but there's something deeply satisfying about coming across these vocabulary words in real life. It's like a moment where I think, Ah, this is why I...
