Chronicles of an Unchanged Student - Blog 2.2, Mysha Macabuat

Hello 2025! Welcome to a new year of AEP, one with assortments of exciting word games, perplexing worksheets, and new journeys to overcome! My wary fingers hit the keyboard once more to create another blog. They are quite tired following the agony of the upcoming STEM congress. Hello to new experiences and fresh opportunities! I am starting to lose hope. Oh to be an unknowing innocent seventh grader like I was 3 years ago. Time you are slippery spiteful creature. I wish you perish.   Jan 8 - Loss at Third Sight What better way to welcome the new year than with a round of Hurdle? Answer: literally anything else. Three rounds in, and we were already flopping. A tragedy? Maybe. A surprise? Absolutely not. We’ve been here before. Many times. With our confidence in shambles, we turned to pie charts—because apparently, humiliation wasn’t enough for one day. At first, it was just shapes and numbers mocking me, but then - somehow - it started making sense. A small victory, I su...

Reflection#2.2/Nada

My AEP job interview class had to do a great and interesting job resume: create a fictional resume for Atticus Finch, the character that I chose the lawyer from "To Kill a Mockingbird". This helped me understand how a good resume can be written as well as led me to some important qualities about a good lawyer. First, I made the resume look real. In education, I put Atticus at a well-known law school so he could represent intelligence. Experience is where he wrote about the case of defending Tom Robinson; in this part, I have taken into account the skills applied to the work such as thinking critically, speaking clearly, and standing up for justice. Creating a fictional resume for Atticus Finch was an interesting and challenging experience. It required me to think about how to present his career in a professional and structured way while making it realistic for a lawyer from his time period. This is one of the biggest challenges that I faced-to balance historical accuracy wit...

AEP#2.2 Hyeono Kim

2025, the new year of wood snake, very interesting year that I never had after the water snake year on 2013. This year for me would actually be really bad that nothing is going well in my life. January 8 First day of 2nd term in my lovely AEP and as always we start with hurdle the first word game I've played this year. having new rules and new start invariably, learning our charts summary, start and conclusion. But of course we can't stay in one topic so it's different charts, tada having pie chart for a starting, we didn't had that much of lesson anticipating our reunion with excitement January 15 Woah as i had excitement for the 2nd day, we had a very long wordle called duotrigordle it was very interesting game with 32 different wordle and had with only a guess with 37 words but as a carry of me, we got all the word that others couldn't this is me. It actually took us 1 whole period just finishing a exercise game, after that we really went on a work of having a es...

AEP BLOG 2.2 - Summer Rose S. Valdez

Welcome to the new year!  One hopefully filled with exciting adventures (academic and not) that will disrupt my obnoxiously lengthy screen-time.  Clearly, despite my hollow enthusiasm, I have not changed for the better this January.   Time runs quickly - and this time, I have not been able to catch it.          January 8 - Pie, anyone?     What better way to start the new year with a quick game of hurdle?  In our case, it truly was quick.  Three rounds and we have blundered.  An unexpected defeat, but not an unfamiliar one.     Starting off with something we have experienced quite a bit last year, we reviewed charts.  Though this time, we took on learning pie charts.  Although they seemed intimidating at first, I got the hang of it and filled out blank spaces in my used-to-be empty worksheet.         January 15 - Again     ...

Blog #3 2.3 Ayessha

Hello, happy new year. Today is our first AEP class after the break. I felt happy but also nervous, and a little excited. We did review of what we have learned last year and, and i didn’t remember all of them, but i remember when we learned about analyzing, skimming, and paraphrasing. We didn’t do much that day, it was pretty relax, and i didn’t think much because we haven’t started the seatwork yet. We played scrabble, we were paired up and i was with Kristine, actually i didn’t remember. We did fine, not really it was quite bad somehow. I was having fun and also I was laughing too, eventhough it was quite and also pretty awkward, I just had fun. At the end of the game, we weren’t the winners of the game, but it was fun, and the winners were Wiam and Selim. We got 70 points, and Wiam and Selim got 127 points. We played contexto    and it was fun too, I liked it, and i had fun. It’s our second AEP class in 2025. We started put AEP class with wordle, we played wordle, an...

Blog #3

First blog of the year! This blog includes the padlet of many, many AEP meetings.  Last padlet of the year (December 10, 2024). On that day, we didn't do much, just played games. We first played Scrabble (which Selim won) and then played Waffle. Had fun that day. First padlet of the year (January 7, 2025). The break went by so quickly, it didn't feel like 2 weeks at all. I wish it was longer. Anyways, at the start of the class, Miss Disa asked us about the lessons she taught us and if we learned/remembered anything from it. After that, we played Scrabble once more. Somehow Selim beat us again. Selim is insanely lucky in Scrabble for some reason. He had nearly double everyone's score. He had around 120 something points if I remember correctly. We then played Contexto after we finished playing Scrabble. I enjoyed AEP and had a lot of fun. Missed lying on my bed though. Second padlet (January 14, 2025). The class began with us playing Unlimited Wordle. It looked and seemed lik...

Reflection 6 -- SEM 2 -- Adi Syachrin

For this week, it was a bit of a doozy! We finally started on our resume meant for our characters. I have made my own resume around several months ago when I was under the impression that I would be able to get a part-time job while also studying. Well... I never really ended up applying to the place but the resume is still relatively updated so I can still use it when I feel like it. I'm using said resume as the basis and reference for Marshall's resume. It has also come to my attention that we're supposed to apply to a real company for this project. Now this was another difficult one. I had searched up several architecture firms in Sydney, Australia and instinctively picked the first one that interested me. However, it has come to my attention that our character has to be pursuing something we like and are actively aspiring for as well.  I initially picked architecture since it had been one of my possible career paths back in Grade 10. However, after learning how difficu...

Reflection 5 -- SEM 2 -- Adi Syachrin

For this period, we finally started on this half-term's lesson on making a character to help visualize what we would like to be. I'll keep this part short but for this character, we will be making them a career path, a degree, and then a resume which we will then "submit" to the job application we intend to have. This mini me character is supposed to be an extension of yourself, a character that you wish you could be. You give them a name, aspirations, and life, basically. You give them your dreams and your achievements. I would say, a "perfect" you, if possible. Miss handed us a little worksheet to aid us in this character creation. It was quite neat since as a writer, I'm used to writing characters like these, often ones who are extensions of my own person. But not quite characters that are very much "me". It was a hard choice, but I decided on the name "Marshall" for a male character. I could've chosen a female character but t...

Stories, Scrabble, and Panic- Meral- AEP 11- Blog 2.2

Incoming AEP update...  Returning from the two-week holidays, and stepping into the AEP classroom, I found myself entering in the middle of a story being told by Miss Disa. Trying to piece together the randomized details, I gathered that Miss was talking about the money she had "lost" for a plane ticket she'd already paid for- essentially, the money the airline had yet to refund her. It's always nice to hear Miss talk about her adventures, whether it's about a Lazada package arriving at her door while she wasn't home or her runs in the mountains. These little anecdotes remind me that teachers don't live at school- something I wholeheartedly believed when I was younger. Anyway, the rest of the day proceeded calmly. We circled around the Scrabble table and played a round of who-had-their-breakfast-that-day enough to coin letters into words. I'm unsure which group had won, but considering it wasn't my group, it doesn't count anyway :D.  The follow...

Nada /The Atticus Finch Effect

I chose Atticus Finch to be my character because he possesses profound qualities, he also made me see life in different perspectives, both as a father and as a respected member of his community. Atticus does not only stand out for his moral integrity but also for the fact that he builds up, and, mainly, develops respective relationships with his family and neighbors. His control, wisdom, and dedication to justice make him a figure of much respect in the town of Maycomb  It's not only about what he does for work but how he lives his life, those are qualities I really admire and want to bring into my own relationships with people.  Atticus is an icon in the novel for one chief aspect: empathy . He teaches his daughter, Scout, to understand the opposing side's point of view . He encourages her to "climb into another person's skin and walk around in it." This lesson is very close to my heart because I always believe that understanding other people, especially on m...

what do I even title these

Blog yeah? AEP so far is not bad, very... erm... AEP if you get what I'm trying to lay out. We do gaem, have a lesson, then have conversations that range from DIO and pucci talking about the meaning of heaven to metal gay stupid (I blame hyeono specifically for obvious reasons that don't include me wanting to make an RvB /ref) I cant cook like how kojima writes his scripts so Imma cap it off right here. edit: nvm we got an extra week and uhh I kinda forgor what we doing so imma try to recall. I think we did extra graph things that were different markets and not dates but all the details have erroded to the s(tain/and)s of time.

Don't Trust Airlines - Khalid, Blog 2.2

First things first, your probably wondering why my blog is titled "Don't Trust Airlines", but lets not get straight to the point why that's my title. I'll be talking about it in one of the upcoming paragraphs.  Anyways! So what have we done for AEP? We've had so many different kinds of shenanigans in our AEP sessions that I'm slowly forgetting what we are learning. But of course my memory isn't that BAD.  So before our break we didn't really do much since we had midterms for our other subjects, so miss Disa let us study for the subjects that we'll be having an exam on. OKAY, midterms done and we come back from our school break.  Here, now you'll see why I named my blog "Don't Trust Airlines". I arrive to our first AEP class after the school break, and all I see is miss going around the room and talking about 5,000 pesos she lost from a plane ticket!? Apparently miss bought the ticket online and her money was used but she didn...

Blog #3 2.3 - Selim

Wow, it has already been the first 2 weeks of the start of 2025! Time flies by in a blink of an eye. Since the beginning of 2025, we have been doing as a Grade 8 class some quick short word games every week on Ms. Disas' new smartboard. On the first meeting of 2025, we just played Scrabble the entire period and I gave it my best and won with nearly double 2nd places points. At our next meeting, we learned more about reading and we learned a new word that day called "Gamut" what an odd word. And we read about a chess grandmaster named Gukesh.

Aleena Imran - Grade 9 - Blog 2.2

December 11, 2024 - Hurdle Defeats us Starting off a game never knowing it will defeat us is truly the most humbling experience in AEP. And in this case, it was Hurdle. Everyone thinks it’s over, but it always comes back to us. It’s truly a battle, a battle between choosing which letters were correct and the placement of it. It was quite humbling to see at the end how blind we were during the game. We did a worksheet that included a graph and filled in the blanks. Other than that, we all recited one detail about a different graph and also read example answers. It wasn’t too difficult or anything like that since I adapted to doing these types of activities. January 8, 2025 - Defeated once again Once again, Hurdle returns to us. But it was quite different, it was somewhat similar to wordle, but you do it multiple times in a row until you lose. To our surprise, we lost after three games. It was quite devastating but oh well. In our worksheets, it included how to describ...

AEP Reflection “The new year”

Welcome back readers, to your favorite AEP reflection.. okay.. Its getting a bit hard calling these reflections and frankly I dont see myself getting used to calling these posts as reflections. In my heart, they will always be blogs!   This week’s AEP classes have been our ‘ease into the year’ type of thing. If I were to numerically list everything, we did not necessarily do a lot of things after the break ended mostly because we had to deal with our post holiday depression. Its scrabble, scrabble and scrabble! Im trying to sound enthusiastic but low and behold this writer right here has a love hate relationship with scrabble. Though as much as Id like to nag about it; I really have to admit how useful having scrabble before lunch is.. I realised how much faster my mind works after AEP class every wednesday. Which mind you, is the most lazy day of the whole school week. With that being said, we are going to be doing interviews!! Which im quite excited about. Making our own p...

Fool's Paradise — Leo Blog 2.2

The last four AEP lessons had been drastically different each day, which I found quite hilarious. Firstly, the class after the last blog, I had been late to class. Not just late, I missed one entire period just because of the so-called prodigious Angkas app! While my parents would tell me not to wake up late and get ready for school 20 minutes prior lest I can't book a motorbike, the amazing app proceeded to tell me that they 'couldn't find a booking! Our bikes are in demand!' Safe to say that, from then on, I vowed to use their competitor app (MoveIt) to make bookings for school. Fortunately for me, that same day, we had only done a review session on the words we learned in the last three units. I had to say, it was a lot for a person who had been stressed out by a simple application that couldn't get me a ride to school. I was frantically calling my mother to tell the admin not to give me a demerit for being late, but alas, I missed the fun part of the period. Th...

Arya V - Blog #2

It's weird how it's 2025 already, I feel like last year went too fast. Anyways, in almost all the days I'm writing about, we played Scrabble. December 5, 2024 We started with seatwork about prepositions. I was doing fine at the start, but I struggled a bit in the end, even though it was multiple choice. Somehow, I feel like my knowledge about prepositions is both good and bad at the same time. In the next period, we played Scrabble with a snack prize. Scarlet, who was my teammate, really wanted it. Unfortunately, my mind told me we definitely weren't winning anytime soon. I didn't want to let Scarlet down, but it seemed like she knew we were losing too. In the end, we made a slight comeback, but only climbed to 2nd place, with Busra & Sayo winning. We shared the prize anyway  :). (Also, Ms Disa posted a picture of us playing Scrabble on google classroom) December 12, 2024 Jia saw the picture that Ms posted, and was sad about missing the last AEP Scrabble day, an...

Ayesha’s Character (start from bottom)

Saksham Kumar

Reflection on Character Development: A Character I’d Like to Be If I could shape my ideal character, I would keep my name as it is—Saksham. It translates to "capable," a quality I strive to embody and carry forward. My last name, Kumar, connects me to my roots in the Jatt community, a proud farming caste. Farming has been a fundamental part of my identity since childhood, and it’s one of the reasons I feel so drawn to pursuing environmental engineering. I want my work to reflect both my heritage and my passion for sustainability. While I was born in Delhi, I grew up in the Philippines. If I had the chance to rewrite my story, I’d choose to be raised in Delhi, a place very close to my heart. Delhi’s vibrant food, festivals, and culture have always resonated with me, and I would cherish the opportunity to grow up amidst its rich heritage. I would want my upbringing to be rooted in tradition yet complemented by a modern, resourceful environment. Being raised in a wealthy famil...
